2 days later and the mad rush and hype from Christmas Day is over :(
The food was great (shout out to Mummy and me for throwing down a feast and a half!) The alcohol was flowing, making my uncles have an 'Azonto-ing' match (funny as hell), the kids had more fun playing with the wrapping paper and boxes their £100 gifts came in, but hey as long as they had fun. It's all for them really; even though big woman like me rushed downstairs at 9am to open my 2 presents! lol
If you weren't as lucky as me to receive 2 amazing presents that you love and you maybe got, an electrical item you don't know how to use or what to do with, or a coat that will never come in fashion or a pair of shoes that don't fit, fear not... we can help you out with what to do with em', so they don't end up taking up space in your room!
1. Exchange
This should be your 1st port of call. Hopefully you got a gift receipt from your loved one and you can take the item right back to the store to get something more to your liking
2. Sell it
Not the nicest thing to do BUT it's better than it collecting dust. Ebay and Gumtree are the best places to sell un-wanted stuff. Just because it's not your taste, it might be someone else's! I'm sure your loved one will prefer you to be happy with the money than being unhappy with a random item you can't use in your house ;)
3. Give it away
If you have a friend or family member who might find better use for it, then happily give it away to them. It'll be off your hands atleast
4. Re-Wrap it and give it away as a gift
Now Now.... this seems a little rude BUT if you have no use for it and are a little strapped for cash on an upcoming birthday then this can really help you out.
5. Donate it
Good old charity shops! Just leave in a bag outside your desired charity and run away, leaving the item(s) in the capable hands of the street!
See, loads of things to do with unwanted Christmas Gifts! We'll put up a blog next week for what to do when your loved one askes where the gift you've gotten rid of is! lol
